BBC One - Inside Out
Inside Out is a regional current affairs programme, broadcast weekly during the autumn, winter and spring. Inside Out pride themselves on bringing surprising stories from familiar places! Inside Out approached Beverley Polo Club as part of their new story of filming celebrities learning a new sport.
With Beverley Polo Club as the location and polo being the sport, the celebrity was Johnny Nelson, the undefeated WBO Crusierweight Boxing Champion of the World. The programme highlighted that polo is easily accessible at Beverley Polo Club and you don't need to have horse experience to take up the sport. |
Channel 4 - Faking It
Faking It is a transformational battle against the odds. A faker is plucked from their natural habitat and given four weeks to master a skill well enough to fool a group of expert judges. Sean McClarron, a local Yorkshireman and new member to Beverley Polo Club, took on the challenge of faking it to appear as an experienced Polo Player. |
ITV - Ladette to Lady
ITV series, Ladette to Lady, filmed on location at Beverley Polo Club. The competing ladettes became guests at the club's annual corporate hospitality event, The Nations Cup; an international polo tournament, attracting luxury brand sponsorship and a host of celebrities. The series follows the transformation of some of Britain's most extreme binge drinking, sexually shameless, anti-social rebels into respectable ladies at Eggleston Hall Finishing School.
At The Nations Cup, the tutors, Liz Brewer, Gill Harbord & Rosemary Shrager monitored the ladettes behaviour as they mingled with celebrities and also presented a prize to the best performing polo pony. Liz Brewer has been the Chairman & CEO of a successful event, marketing & personal representation agency for the past 25 years and amongst her clients are Dame Shirley Bassey and Ivana Trump. She is an expert on modern day manners, etiquette and personal presentation. The author of The Party Bible and subject of The Fame Game, she is now in the process of writing Manners Maketh Man. Gill Harbord is known to millions of viewers as the iron-fisted headmistress set the task of trying to transform a band of ill-mannered girls into well-mannered ladies. She taught flower arranging for many years during Eggleston Hall's golden era as a famous finishing school. She trained at Constance Spry in London, and Gill is now Eggleston Hall's NAFAS accredited national demonstrator. She's also appeared on TV shows Mind Your Manners and the Sharon Osbourne Show. Rosemary Shrager is a talented chef who has worked for Pierre Koffman at the famous Tante Claire restaurant in London and also for Jean-Christophe Novelli. Whilst head Chef at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle, she ran her renowned cookery course for four years and published her first book. Rosemary's TV career began on Channel 5 before becoming resident expert on Ladette to Lady and The Alan Titchmarsh Show. |
